I had an email form Knit Today Magazine & we will be featured group in issue 63 ! Well done everyone for taking part in the photo shoot.It means we have won a prize for the group, usually books or yarn.
The email said "Thanks so much for sending through your answers and pictures. They're great! The feature is currently scheduled to run in issue 63 of Knit Today."

Blooming Marvellous

Today we will be sorting out a list of who is knitting what for this project & who wants to be involved in using the knitting machine to make the tree trunk !
We need to book ahead to get cheap ( £1 a ticket kind of cheap ) train tickets to go to Bournemouth to see our work on display...& have a day out at the seaside too  

Leytonstone Art Trail

Let's get thinking about what we could make as individuals or as a group for our local art trail.Any ideas ? I would love to fill Leytonstone with hand crafted goodies.

Photo shoot for Knit Today Magazine

The meeting this week was very busy with everyone working hard to make a display of some of our work to take photos for Knit Today Magazine.

Not everyone could make it to the meeting.I've decided to bring the camera along to the meetings in future so we will always have a supply of photos with all the different people & their projects. 

Now we are officially involved in the Bloomimg Marvellous Project we will be knitting all sorts of flowers, fruit & veg & using the knitting machine a tree trunk !
If anybody has any patterns for knitted slugs ( yes , slugs !) please bring them along , thanks.

The E11 Crafty Knitters  are now officially taking part in this national project.
Margaret will be setting up the knitting machine & teaching all who want to learn how to use it.What will be on the machine ? We will be making a tree trunk to fit around a pillar in the exhibition space.

This will be 58 inches wide & 6 foot long !

We will also be making flowers , fruit & veg & maybe a bee & a slug or two !

This means a trip to the seaside to see the finished piece.

Any ideas for community or charity knitting projects are very welcome.

Woo Hoo Knit Today magazine want us

 Knit Today Magazine have emailed to ask us to feature in their "club of the month " section of the magazine.

So please everyone attend next week ( 18th January )  with examples of your work & a smile on your face for the photos !

Meeting this week

The 2nd meeting is this Tuesday 11 th January , 3 to 5 p.m.

What is on the needles now ?  
The group has socks, jumpers,cushion covers,scarves,dalek ( yes Dalek !) dishcloths & a patchwork quilt on the go at the moment.What next ? 

1st Meeting

The 1st meeting went well..........it is a lovely big bright space to craft in.
Hope to see some more people this week as posters have gone up & we've had a lot of interest from people .
